The fear of being killed or kidnapped still haunts me sometimes. I have learned the art of negotiation and created ways to share business ventures across political divides. Days before October 7, I was walking with my mom on the beach, sharing my vision of the new start-up I was building, which envisioned a Palestinian-Israeli venture to supply Gaza with clean energy. I was planning to have investors from both communities; I believe no one will destroy something they have built together.
I believe in and support the mission and principles of Realign for Palestine because it is bringing a new approach and fresh ideas on how to forge pathways to peace and it will support those ready to have critical conversations about building a shared future and the fate of the Palestinian independence and national project. I remain steadfast in my commitment to peace and rebuilding in Gaza and strongly believe that Realign for Palestine will be part of how we achieve this new reality for Gaza and beyond.
